Santa Lucía Cloudforest Reserve is in one of the most biodiverse areas in the world and Santa Lucía ecolodge is in the heart of the cloud forest at 1900 meters with panoramic views.Please click on Prices for our rates.

We conserve over 1800 acres of montane cloudforest in the Chocó Andean Bioregion, a biodiversity 'hotspot.' 80% of our reserve is primary forest and we have over 394 species of birds, including many species of hummingbirds, the Plate-billed Mountain Toucan, and a lek (mating ritual) of the Andean Cock-of the-Rock. (Click on Birding. ) There are 45 species of mammals including pumas and the Spectacled Bear. (Click on Mammals) Thousands of tropical plants are native to the region, including an amazing variety of orchids, bromeliads, and other epiphytes.

The lodge sleeps twenty in a mix of double and shared rooms; we have hot showers - with particularly spectacular views over the forest; bathrooms are shared and in addition to ordinary toilets the lodge has compost toilets to minimise contamination. In the evenings, the lodge is lit by candlelight as we do not have electricity at this remote location.

Meals combine traditional Ecuadorian and international recipes and where possible we use organic produce from our garden.Guests are always welcome to lend a hand in the garden and kitchen. We are happy to accommodate vegetarian and other special diets.
